Karen and Sara’s engagement shoot in London.

Who photographed your engagement? What was that experience like? The amazing and very talented Paola De Paola photographed our engagement shoot and will also fly to Italy to photograph our wedding day. Cristina Pala was our hair and make-up artist and made us look beautiful!

Karen: We were both a bit nervous and didn’t really know what to expect but Paola is so warm and patient – she soon made sure that we relaxed and I really enjoyed the whole experience, even though I usually hate having my photo taken! We had loads of fun! The photos are amazing, we love them so much – Paola really captured the very special love between us.

Sara: I was probably the most nervous but Paola is such a professional and an amazing artist, she really guides you through the shoot. We chose Paola as she is so passionate about her art and about making sure your day is so special – her photographs are beautiful, quirky and have such soul, they really stood out against the crowd. Working with Paola just feels like working with a friend and that really helps!

Paul and Richard’s wedding at Islington Town Hall.

You not only captured each stage of the day beautifully but did so in such a natural, candid, and unobtrusive manner. This style provided us with memories of our day that we did not see ourselves showing our guests so throughly enjoying themselves as well wonderful shots of each element of our day. The final edit of over 600 photos provides a comprehensive story arc of the Wedding. The morning where we were both photographed individually at our different locations getting ready for the ceremony was personally a favourite to see what we were doing individually before tying the knot and becoming ‘one’.

For us your personal interest in our story, the pre-wedding shoot, correspondence during the lead up and the number of face to face meetings will never be forgotten. We would highly recommend your services for anyone looking for a wedding photographer.

Paul & Richard

This was a great experience. We had never had a professional photo shoot before, so we were quite intimidated at first. However, you really helped us to feel more confident and comfortable. We really enjoyed the fact that this was an informal experience but at the same time we really felt it was the first real step of our wedding journey.
It was quite lovely to be in locations that we really liked. Changing scenes visually helped to tell the story.
We were also very grateful that you managed to integrate Thibaud’s violin into the story, as it means so much to us.
We would really recommend couples to do this, as this is quite a unique experience and the outcome is amazingly worth it!

Dan and Matt’s civil partnership at the Corinthia hotel, London.

We had our civil partnership in January, and have just received our Queensberry album after Paola kindly went the extra mile and helped us put it all together! That Paola did this for us, is just a reflection of the passion, attention to detail, high standards and level of service you get when you use Paola.

We found her by searching photographers online and had been looking for a photographer with a particular style and that something special! After searching a few photographers we came across Paola’s details and website. On reviewing the photos on the site, we knew instantly that we both wanted Paola as our photographer! I don’t know what ‘it’ is by the way — and I can’t properly define it here — it’s that magic captured in the moment, the off guarded look and the way she uses the beautiful surroundings to
enhance the picture. I genuinely think Paola sees more and catches these moments more than any of the other photographers we considered.

From the moment we met Paola she bowled us off out feet, with her enthusiasm and passion, not just about the photography of our day but about us, our journey to our special day and our hopes for the future!

On the day itself, Paola blended effortlessly with our families and guests capturing some brilliant images! We had an amazing shoot in the day as well and looking at all these pictures six months on in our beautiful album they really reflect the atmosphere and feeling of the day.

All in all, I would highly recommend Paola as your photographer — you will be in a pair of very safe and very passionate hands.

Alex and Audrey’s engagement shoot in Brighton

We started looking for a photographer five months before the wedding and all photographers that we found online seemed to either ignore gay weddings altogether or cover them in a way that made the newlyweds look like friends or siblings. So, when we met Paola we had the feeling that she was everything we’ve been looking for! We loved her style, the moments and emotions captured in the pictures, and we clicked straight away! Paola, is so friendly and understanding. We can’t wait to have her with us on our big day!

Beth and Antonio at The Windmill on the Common

We had pretty much decided not to hire a photographer for our wedding as we have many talented photographers for friends who were coming to our day. When I met Paola we immediately hit it off, she’s so up beat and has such a great portfolio I realised she’s not just any old wedding photographer! When you hire her you’re getting a photo journalist who’ll document everything you don’t expect or think about until after the wedding day.

I am so glad I met Paola, she’s thoughtful and thorough and really really kind, she captured the essence our day even better than we could have imagined. Looking at the photos now I had no idea she was taking pictures all through the day and evening, she stayed in the background the whole time and yet she must have hardly sat down! Paola’s fantastic and so are our pictures, our biggest problem now is choosing which of them to leave out of the wedding albums they’re all so great!

I really feel that in Paola you get a photographer, artist and a friend all wrapped into one lovely parcel, I hope we stay in touch for a long time!

Dan & Matt’s engagement shoot at St Katharine’s Docks, London

A photo shoot is a great way to feel at ease with the photographer and camera before your big day. Both of us felt self-conscious and nervous about having our picture taken. We found Paola’s guidance and approach a great way to help us get used to the lens!
We are really very pleased with the relaxed and atmospheric pictures that Paola has captured on our photo shoot – we think they are great!!

Paola was amazing and so much fun to work with! She kept our session laid back and relaxed just as we’d hoped she would. She chose such a perfect location that matched so well with our personalities. I couldn’t have asked for a better photographer and better results!

From the first meeting with Paola, I felt total confidence. Paola asked lots of questions about what memory’s we wanted from our day also giving suggestions and advice. On the day, Paola was very discreet and made us feel at ease. I would highly recommend Paola to anyone wanting to capture amazing photographs.
