I adore celebrating diversity and photographing love! I welcome you to my inclusive, LGBTQ-friendly wedding photography blog. As a London-based alternative documentary wedding photographer, I will always celebrate love in all its forms.

Two Brides secret proposal in London

The bride-to-be Natalie, madly in love, organised a romantic secret wedding proposal for her girlfriend at St. Dunstan's in the East and Love Lane in the City of London.

She wanted to commemorate this special moment with some beautiful pictures. So she searched for a local London based wedding photographer to capture the event.

She found me on Google when looking for an LGBTQ-friendly wedding photographer in London.

She immediately emailed me from the United States to tell me all about her beautiful project. She wanted to book me to photograph the secret proposal that was also happening on the same day as her girlfriend Haylie’s birthday.

The proposal on a rainy day in March was not spoiled by the weather, as the excitement and the energy were too electrifying.

St Dunstan’s in the East

You miss out if you’ve never been to St. Dunstan's in the East in London. This venue was originally a Church but was largely destroyed during the Second World War. It is now a beautiful garden with ruins, which is free and open to the public.

Make sure to visit this incredible place next time you are in the capital. And definitely keep it in mind if you’re planning a romantic secret proposal!

I always like to hear how my couples met and fell in love.

The Couple’s Story

Haylie and I met less than two years ago, shortly after I moved to California from Alabama, where I had received my bachelor's degree. I was volunteering in a service corps program at the time, and she was in her fifth year of teaching middle school. She is the most warm, passionate, and delightfully strange person I've ever met. We've clicked from the beginning, and I'm incredibly excited to spend the rest of my life with her. Throughout the first few months of our relationship, I learned of her dream to visit the UK, specifically London. She hung posters of Big Ben, telephone booths, and other landmarks throughout her bedroom and office. She's an avid reader and gets incredibly excited when she picks up a story with a plot set anywhere in the region.

About four months ago, I found discount flights to Paris and quickly booked them, along with train tickets so we could make a few day's detours in London. She has been saving up for a trip to London for years, but I don't think she has realised yet that it is the place I will propose to her yet!! I came across photos of St. Dunstan's in the East a few weeks ago and thought it would be the perfect setting. It's beautiful, and romantic, and I think she will really enjoy spending time in the garden. I'm beyond excited to have you photograph this special moment for us; thank you!!
