When Sandra, from Sophie and Luna asked me to be the photographer for this inspirational photo shoot, I immediately felt a spark of excitement.
the photo shoot
Having worked with her before, I knew perfectly well that I was facing something special. I have been a photographer for more than 10 years, in the music industry to begin with and in the wedding world since 2012.
I have been involved in many editorial and styled shoots but always collaborating with the most quirky and unconventional bunch.
I’m Italian of origin, so I deeply love romantic setups, however, I am a wildcat, always looking for the most cutting edge, stylish, and unusual ideas.
The amalgamation of Sash & Veil and Sophie and Luna created something very new, very stylish, unique, feminine, but in a most organic and original way.
Sash & Luna was formed and I couldn’t wait to work with these amazingly inspiring women.
Honestly, preserved flowers and veils together, how couldn’t I have not been crazily excited?
When I photograph, my aim is to tell the story in a very fluid and emotional way.
The team was incredibly talented and very professional. So, a big thank you to everybody for being so collaborative and positive. The vision was to create a dynamic, romantic, and stylish shoot deeply rooted in the free spirit of a young beautiful bride to be.
A few words from Heather owner of Sash and Veil
Our aim is for the shoot to encapsulate the following themes:
Luxe artisan handmade
A team of artisans coming together to create a unique but luxury hand-crafted wedding.
Unique, new and fresh
Combining the entirely new concept of using preserved flowers to style a wedding from the boho flower crown to the veil, complimented with the luxury and artistry of hand-dyed pure silk ribbons.
Independent /free spirited quirky
For the modern boho bride who wants the freedom to choose to take the elements she loves and create her own unique look.
The creativity of our team allowing the bride to combine the handmade and separate elements to create her very own version.
Pantone colour of the year “Greenery”, softened with light peachy pinks, creamy vanillas, mint greens and soft milky ivories. Accented with flashes of muted gold.
Why we chose what we’ve chosen
Northbrook Park is the ultimate luxury country manor, stunning greenery to add the perfect backdrop to our colour palette, but with the freedom and space of a setting in acres of English countryside to explore and create.
To introduce Pantone Colour of the Year: “Greenery” and to team this with complimentary shades to demonstrate how it can be used within this boho luxe theme incorporating a hint of gold to add a luxe element, all of which we feel are a perfect choice for Spring /Summer 2017
For her experience in the wedding industry and her creative eye added to which her love of quirky, unusual, bespoke photography is an ideal match for our themes.
The top and tulle skirt combination for a boho indie look, a beautiful style but with a modern twist. The two piece aspect also gives the bride the flexibility to change the individual pieces to come up with a look which is entirely her own.
To showcase the entirely new idea of using preserved flowers which using a unique process, the flowers are preserved in such a way they will last forever.
To utilise the colour palette and showcase the combination of preserved flowers with veils to create either a traditional veil or for the indie, boho bride, there is a range of tinted veils which can be layered and sprinkled with the bride’s choice of flowers
