I met Claire and Billy at the National Wedding Show in Earl’s Court in London, where I was exhibiting. They are a very friendly and laid-back couple.
Their love story
Through a successful set up by mutual friends, they were first aquainted at a halloween party two years ago.
Not long after, Billy proposed by the scenic seafront of the Cornwall coast, having first secretly asked for Claire’s father’s permission.
The wedding will be a relaxed London affair, completed with a vintage double-decker red bus.
The engagement shoot in London
The engagement shoot was around the area that they call home, the south side of the river Thames. We agreed to meet at lunchtime, so as to capture the magic of the afternoon lights. Our session started at the Artisan Coffee and then we carried on walking to the Rutland Arms pub by the river.
I remember this part of London for another engagement shoot not so long ago, it was for Lauren and David.
The importance of an engagement shoot, or pre-wedding photo shoot
Why do I make the engagement shoot part of my wedding package?
It’s because as a photographer all I want to do is to record the wedding day in the most honest, spontaneous and unobtrusive way. I want to capture the natural happiness, the bond, the togetherness of the couple. I really love the emotions, the looks, the feelings and the magic of it all.
What I loved about Claire and Billy’s engagement shoot was the energy and the twinkle in their eyes.
Winter engagement shoots are my favourite, because of the cold outside and the cosiness inside. Claire and Billy are such a wonderful couple and their love makes me happy, they are so beautiful together!
