A London Same-sex engagement shoot in Southbank
An early start today for Paul and Richard’s same-sex engagement shoot at the Southbank. The Southbank is undoubtedly the city’s most vibrant, exciting, jazzy, lively, creative culture hub.
Wait a second, it feels strangely busy today here, it is Saturday, 30 August.
Ah, I know, it is the big wedding event of the weekend, the Festival of Love and the Southbank is in full swing.
To celebrate the anniversary of same-sex marriage the Southbank centre has created the biggest wedding weekend ever, and I am here too, with Paul and Richard, to celebrate their love story with an engagement shoot.
The atmosphere is amazing. It’s incredibly busy, and the area is filled with many couples from gay, straight, young and old. All ready to be married or renew their vows on the stage of the iconic Royal Festival Hall.
We had rain for a week but not today. Today, it is sunny, a glorious summer day full of happiness and energy.
Paul and Richard’s wedding is planned for December at the Islington Town Hall and I can’t wait to be there to photograph their very Christmassy unconventional wedding.
It’s going to be a relaxed affair, a fun-filled day with family and friends…
Surprise, surprise to lift up the spirit and make it even more quirky there’s going to be a… Oops, sorry, I can’t say it’s a surprise.
