The Telegraph pub
I met Emma, actually I met Emma’s entire family, at a local wedding fair. In the lovely country pub, The Telegraph, set in the heart of Putney Heath. Her dad passed by my stand and asked a lot of questions, he then came back accompanied by the whole family. Including the charming grandmother, the only person not present on the day was Steve, Emma’s fiancé.
The decision was made, and I was going to be Emma and Steve’s wedding photographer. I arranged to meet the couple again in Southbank on a very windy and wet December evening. The area was very festive with a Christmas market along the river. At the meeting we spoke about the wedding day and the engagement photo shoot, which was to take place in Greenwich, their home town. I created a Pinterest board as usual, to help develop a strong theme to the photoshoot.
Tuesday 13 May at 4.30pm, on my way to Emma and Steve at Canary Wharf Pier to catch a boat to Greenwich, for their engagement photo shoot. Weatherwise though it was absolutely and totally unpredictable – rain, rain, sun, rain, hail stones, sun and rain. Let’s see if we’re going to get wet! Amazingly, it didn’t rain during the engagement shoot. I had the idea of taking pictures on a river Thames boat, but unfortunately it didn’t happen due to the high volume of commuters. Instead we explored Greenwich and the surrounding area. Unexpectedly the day ended with a magnificent sunset.
