I first met Rachel, an incredibly talented award-winning milliner, for a personal project. I was working on a photographic book called Madonne in the 21st century, which is about the ability of working mothers to shine and succeed despite dirty nappies and endless sleepless nights. Yes, we can have the cake and eat it!
Rachel’s 17th century atelier in St. James’s, central London, is a breathtaking little treasure. Every hat and headpiece is handmade to flatter and finish her client’s outfit. In 2006 she was appointed to design hats for H.M. The Queen.
I had the pleasure to meet and photograph Rachel and one of her three children. She is an amazing talented artist and a fantastic mother.
